Hello Lovelies,
I have been ogling those Uber chic & Moyou London Mats for awhile, but I'm afraid to commit agh lol. So I decided making my own for now will suffice, until I can splurge on supplies again. I found various tutorials on how to create your own mats, a lot of other bloggers suggested a template from a blogger named Nail Lacquer UK. She has a lovely site with free downloadable templates and a gorgeous Instagram of swatches. In order to make this mat I used a cardstock paper in which I printed two sides of different templates, then stuffed the paper into a sleeve protector. I've used this mat a few times this week and it will do for now, I'm going to try to laminate it so it will last longer.
Here is the picture of the mani I did using the DIY nail art mat.
Apply a base coat if you want to make nail decals
The drying time took about 3 minutes with the mat.
Used my tweezer man's!! I suggest flat tweezer's, the angled ones punctured the sleeve alittle bit.
Here are the decals , I applied a base coat to my nail, then pressed the decals in.
I did not have to use acetone to get rid of the excess, a cuticle stick did the trick.
The polish pictured is by CDB Lacquer, from the anniversary duo shade "keep on believing"
Hope to make more this week! I will be working on Easter Mani's~
Have a happy Monday!!!
EVLK
